Tissy as a three year old

If you are looking for your next hunter prospect, look no further! Tissy exhibits all of the qualities that will prove her to be successful in the show ring. She has excellent conformation with a presence that will make her stand out. Tissy's trot floats and she carries herself over the ground in effortless motion.

Tissy is the type of horse you need to see in person to fully appreciate. She is absolutely gorgeous and personable and if it were possible, she would become your pocket pal. She is often one of the first to greet you when you go to the paddock and is so easy to handle. Her beauty is definitely greater in person, unfortunately we are not the best photographers and have not been able to capture the presence she has with these photos. She is truly a lovely looking horse!!

In the fall of 2006 Tissy was lightly started under saddle, walk/trot. She was then gently worked with again in the spring of 2007 for four weeks. At the end of that time she was going walk, trot and canter, picking up both canter leads and learning to accept contact. She is ready now to learn more and start to be worked more regularly. She is a still growing 16HH horse, and it appears she will grow another inch or two yet. We believe in lightly starting them at this age and giving them a solid foundation for future work. Tissy is good for the farrier, vet, loads well, is good to needle and worm. I have no problems in seeing this horse be a successful A circuit  amateur adult or children's 3 foot or 3 foot 6 hunter.

Sire

Lover's Cross (TB)

LOVER'S CROSS is a 16.2H, dark bay thoroughbred stallion, born in 1983. He is by EXPLODENT by NEARCTIC out of GIRL IN LOVE by LUCKY DEBONAIR, who is a grandson of COUNT FLEET. His sire, EXPLODENT is known for passing on wonderful temperaments and jumping talent.

LOVER'S CROSS was purchased as a 2 yr old in training at the Keeneland Sales for the sum of $200,000.00. Under trainer Roger Attfield, he went on to win major Stakes Races in Canada and the USA with total earnings of $329,116. He was then retired to stud as an unblemished 6 year old.

In 1996, LOVER'S CROSS was approved for breeding with the Canadian Sporthorse Assoc. and assigned SILVER PREMIUM STATUS based on his racing career.

In 1998, Lover was approved with the Canadian Warmblood Horse Breeders Assoc. The guest inspector, Dr Gerd Lehman from the Warendorf Stud in Germany said that Lover is the exact type of thoroughbred they want in their European Studbook. Lover scored 8's for Breed and Sex Type, Correctness of Gaits, as well as Jumping & Gallop. He scored 9 for his General Impression and Development.

In 2000 LOVER'S CROSS was Reserve Grand Champion Thoroughbred at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. He has the qualities you look for in a sire: athletic, willing, easy to manage and beautiful. All his handlers adore him. He is the kind of stallion you wish all were like. He is quick to learn and wants to please, traits we also see in his offspring.

Yearling Pictures of "Tis So Sweet"
Tissy is an absolutely gorgeous yearling filly! I am afraid these pictures just do not do her justice.
She has presence and movement galore.  She literally floats along the ground and demands your attention.
This may be a cup contender  filly as a three year old.
