Laney's Debut At a Horse Show 2008
Laney was a pro in her first show ever. Nothing seemed to phase her and she just trucked around that ring like she had been doing it all her life. It sure made for a proud moment for me!! There is nothing quite as rewarding as seeing your homebreds out and showing!

Laney spent the month at Heather and John Pritchard's to get some riding put on her.
She is progressing well and will be a lovely Hunter! Jenna is enjoying her immensely.

Introducing.....Laney
On Sunday morning, May 2005,  Chala foaled out a sweet looking filly that we are calling Laney at the barn. She is healthy and inquisitive and a real blessing to have at the barn! She made a wonderful Mother's Day gift!

Laney floats when she trots and is turning into an absolutely stunning filly. She has large kind eyes and loves to snuggle. This filly is going to have some jump in her. On her first turn out she popped over a small X just for fun!
 

Laney is halter broke, stands in the cross ties, is good for the farrier, totally sound, has had the saddle on her back and a bit in her mouth. We see Laney being an elegant hunter, dressage mount or possibly a jumper.
As of June 1st, 2007 Laney is approximately 15.1+HH. We think she should finish close to the 16HH mark if not more.

***Update October 1, 2007***

Laney has been ridden several times now at the walk and trot. She was cantered gently a few times also and will now get the winter off. She was absolutely sweet and willing to do everything that was asked of her.  She's a real doll!!

We also measured Laney again and she is now 15.2HH as a two year old, with room to grow.

Sire:  Lancaster

Laney's sire is Lancaster, an elite AWS stallion
 by Landgraf I, by Ladykiller. Out of a mare by Renomee.
He also carries the blood of Ramiro, Capitano and Gotthard.
 Lancaster is a 17.1 imported Holsteiner stallion.
Lancaster has been champion at Novice A Eventing, 4th Level Dressage and Preliminary Jumpers. He has an A++ temperament which has earned him a 9.8 on disposition @ his approval.
 

 

Dam: Genuine Chala

Chala is a 1984 TBX who was a real school master for our girls. Chala has been successfully shown as an adult hunter and was often Reserve or Champion in her division. She was also ridden in Adult Equitation classes, placing 1st in the North Eastern Trillium circuit.
